Lobosco - geneology

Post by dlobo74 »

I am trying to find more out about my Lobosco family. Unfortunately, my grandfather died before I was born. My dad died in 1991 and was an only child - and he was very mysterious about the family.

Here is what I know - Francesco Lobosco (1879 or 1881-1969) was married to Mary Cancilla (1887-1965) - they came from Italy around 1899 and settled in Pittsburgh. Mary's mother was Rose Cancilla (1852-1912?). I am not sure if Francesco had any brothers or sisters, but I guess he did. Francesco and Mary had my grandfather - Francis Lobosco (1907-1969), Anna Lobosco (1911-2002), and Sarah Lobosco (1914-2007).

I can not find any other info on any of the websites, and I've tried everything. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,
David Lobosco

OMG - thank you so much! That is fascinating stuff. I never knew my great grandfather had any siblings. I found a lot on his brother Antonio LoBosco (1870-1963) but it seems like the other brother Salvatore disappeared from view. This makes me want to research deeper and learn Italian!

Wow, it amazing this wealth of knowledge. Thank you one and all. I wish I would have had this info when my father was alive. My dad, Francis Lobosco (1946-1991) was very mysterious when I did ask him anything about his grandfather.

Hi David LoBosco,
My name is Josephine Saveriano and i am familiar with the LoBosco family. My grandmother Maria was a LoBosco and was married to Ludovico Faso and came from Altivilla Milicia Italy. My great grandparents were Francesco LoBosco and Antonia Cerrincione. Her siblings were Antonio, Francesco, Salvatore, Vincenzo,Sabastian and Guiseppe.
It would be great if we could compare notes and share whatever information we have.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Josephine Saveriano
