Here is the death of Gandolfo Giresi, my 6th great grandfather:

I believe his profession is listed as 'manuale' - a manual laborer. Can you read his father's procession? It looks like 'Fonsoniere"? Can anyone read his wife's surname? Her first name is Rosaria. His wife's surname was part of the discussion in my "ages" post.

Should be fixed, sorry, it took forever to upload. I guess I am just having a slow Internet connection day.
Re: Death record help
Paolina's surname looks like Verdi, which today is spelled Verde in the town.
I found the following list of occupations for the town which someone compiled-

I am looking at fontaniere-fountain builder-which may be the occupation in your record

Thanks, I thought it was Vinci or Verri. However I was asking about his wife's Rosaria's (or Rosalia's) surname, and Paolina was his mother.erudita74 wrote:Paolina's surname looks like Verdi, which today is spelled Verde in the town.
The first letter being a 'F' was a wild guess. I thought at first it was a 'J' and then remembered their isn't one. Google translates 'plumber' as 'fontaniere', probably more likely.erudita74 wrote: I found the following list of occupations for the town which someone compiled-
