Found Relative in Birth Index, but can't find the record

Post by ncolonna »

Hello,

I found my 3rd great-grandmother in the Birth Index for Noja in 1826 (http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0). She in on line 151, Maria Sciannameo and I believe I found the actual record based on the index.

Can someone please confirm if this is the correct record and provide a translation? I believe it is on 2 pages.

Although you've read the index correctly, record #151 is the wrong record. The correct record is actually record #141.

I didn't get a chance to translate it yet. I just wanted to post the correct record first.

Thanks, Marty. I've been trying to decipher the information and surname across the top of the record. The date across the top is July 3, 1897, #23 in Noia. There is the name Nicola (surname could be Ranazzi, or Banazzi), but neither exists in the town. I see surnames like Boccuzzi Bocuzzi, so possibly it is one of these. Not sure what this notation refers to though. I can't decipher the word before the surname.

To add to what Marty translated, the birth took place in the house on Strada Sant Anna. The baptism took place on the 20th in the parish of this town.

Thank you both for your replies! Would either of you know where I can find records for 1790 or earlier for Puglia?

Records that early would have to be church records from local parishes, if available.
