I have just signed up in hopes of getting some help with my Paternal Grandfathers line. My grandfather Domenico Carnevale came over from Pico Italy in 1912. I have a copy of his marriage Certificate to Irene Dailey that lists Joseph (Giuseppe) Carnevale as father and Filomena Ruscetta as his mother. I have had no luck yet finding anything on Ancesry.com.

If anyone on this board can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

If your sure he was born in Pico, Frosinone and the above info is correct there are records of Pico 1816-1865 which will help later in your research. Pico was part of Caserta in those years and I think in the 1870"s it turn into Pico, province Frosinone so you will have to send for his birth record could not find email address for Pico so you will have to send for the birth act by mail it cost a $1.10 to send a letter to Italy from the US

Hi erudita74,

Yes that is the correct family.

Robert is my father.

My grandfather was married twice, first wife was Mary Renzi and 2nd wife was Irene Dailey mother of my Robert and Charles.

I will try and do a search on his mother using the spelling you provided as it is different than what is on my Grandpa's Marriage certificate.

Thanks for the responses.

I am sorry, I just reread my post and see I was not very clear on what I am looking for direction on. I have actually found quite a bit of stuff on my Grandfather but am having trouble going back any further (finding information on his parents). Is there a site better than ancestry.com for finding information coming from Italy?
