Vacca Family from Naples, Italy

Post by gliesian66 »

Can anyone help me fill in the missing people (of the ancestry tree below)?

My (Vacca and Esposito) family are all from Naples, Italy.

Added birth dates and passing dates would also be great!

Thanks,

It is important to know the exact comune in Naples...
Do you have any US documents that indicate the place of origin for that family line?

This link will give you some idea of the number of towns in the Province of Naples that have the name VACCA
At the space next to Campania Region type in the name Vacca and choose exact - you will see the results.

Knowing the place of birth will hopefully help you further with your search.
Have a play round with the above link and hopefully you will find some more of your family there. It looks like there was an older brother, Antonio, who died aged two.

Btw did you know that the name Vacca means cow?

I hope you are able to find more of your family in these indexed records. Just remember though that it’s always best to find the originals as sometimes there can be errors made in the indexing. Good luck.

Thank you for following up on this Levio. After I posted the information here I myself went back to Family Search, clicked on the name Raimondo Vacca which brought me to “Explore viewing options”, clicked on “Portale Antenati” which of course brought me to the Antenati site you have posted here. I spent ages hovering over these late October pages but somehow missed it and then ran out of time. I was going to look for it again later with fresh eyes. I knew it had to be there. I can see it very clearly now. Good find.

Antonio Vacca's Possible Birth Record

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

It looks like Antonio was born on 15 November 1830 if this is his indexed birth record. They have spelt Luisa’s surname incorrectly. (It would be good to find the original record though to be sure.)

• spouse:Luisa Alefaco
• child:Antonio Vacca
• NameAntonio Vacca
• Event TypeBirth
• Event Date15 Nov 1830
• Event PlaceQuartiere San Ferdinando, Napoli, Napoli, Italy
• GenderMale
• Age
• Birth Date
• Birth Year (Estimated)
• Birthplace
• Father's NameDomenico Vacca
• Mother's NameLuisa Alefaco
• Spouse's Name
• Spouse's Age
• Spouse's Birth Year (Estimated)
• Spouse's Birthplace
• Spouse's Father's Name
• Spouse's Mother's Name
• Entry Number
• GS Film number1767034
• Digital Folder Number004906667

These are possibly other siblings of Raimondo which are listed on the link I’ve posted previously. (I don’t think there is a Luisa – I must have been having “optical illusions”!

Maria Teresa, Antonio, Giuseppe, Anna Maria, Nunzio, Maria, Vincenzo

Luisa surname has possibly been entered incorrectly as “Alefeca”, “Alefaco” and possibly also “Aleseca” and “Alefrica” in places. This is why is important to view the original records.

I hope this helps and doesn’t confuse. I must admit I'm completely confused about Luisa's surname now. How is Luisa’s surname spelt anyway? I’m picking it is probably “Alefico”.

Pasquale Vacca - Possible Child of Luisa and Domenico

Post by AngelaGrace56 »

Hi again

I spotted the following and wondered whether these were the same Domenico and Luisa that we are considering. I am pretty sure they are, going by their ages and estimated years of birth. I think this might possibly be their first child - Pasquale:

• father:Domenico Vacca
• mother:Maria Luisa Alefaco
• NamePasquale Vacca
• Event TypeBirth
• Event Date11 Mar 1826
• Event PlaceQuartiere San Ferdinando, Napoli, Napoli, Italy
• GenderMale
• Age
• Birth Date
• Birth Year (Estimated)
• Birthplace
• Father's NameDomenico Vacca, Aged 29
• Mother's NameMaria Luisa Alefaco, Aged 19
• Spouse's Name
• Spouse's Age
• Spouse's Birth Year (Estimated)
• Spouse's Birthplace
• Spouse's Father's Name
• Spouse's Mother's Name
• Entry Number
• GS Film number1767030
• Digital Folder Number004906662

I have found the original so hopefully the link will work for you:

So, if this is correct, Luisa's first name was Maria but possibly known as Luisa. Not sure. Do you have a marriage record for them?
