Death records

Post by gentilejoy@yahoo.com »

When contacting the Ufficio Dello Stato Civile of a city or town for a married, female ancestor's death record, do I provide her maiden name or married name? Thank you for the response. :)

Definitely what we in the U.S. call her maiden name. In Italy, the woman, whether married or not, retained the surname of her father. You can also add in your request though that she was "the wife of.."(and then give the husband's full name)
