Looking for Anzevino or Liscio
I am planning a trip to Panni, a small village in Foggia, Apuglia this fall to see the ancestral home of my grandfather Alfonso Anzevino and grandmother Filomena Liscio. Are there descendants or relatives still in Panni? Any advice about visiting Panni is also appreciated.

In Foggia the correct spelling of your GF's surname is ANZIVINOJeffreyAnzevino wrote:I am planning a trip to Panni, a small village in Foggia, Apuglia this fall to see the ancestral home of my grandfather Alfonso Anzevino and grandmother Filomena Liscio. AND there are 4 listings for Liscio

Should you wish to write to these "potential" relatives...

Re: Looking for Anzevino or Liscio
Tessa,
Many thanks for these links that will connect me to much good information. I know that there are many spellings of Anzivino here in the US. But I do appreciate knowing how it is spelled in Italy. Because that's what counts. I met a man in my hometown here named Michael Anzivina (his spelling). He is from Montagulto, which looks like the next hill to the north from Panni. So, I will extend my trip from Panni to Montaguilto as well. I will write the people whose name we share and hope I can learn about my family and my self.
Grazie mille.
Jeff!

Re: Looking for Anzevino or Liscio
Hi Jeff, my name is Anthony Mansolillo. My family also comes from Panni. One of my ancestors was a Liscio, so we could be related. I frequently visit Family History Centers to view records on film from 1809-1890 from Panni. Depending on your grandparents' ages, you could possibly find them (if not, their parents) in the records and then expand backwards from that. Unfortunately, it will be very hard to expand farther back than 1809. Panni's church archives have records that go as far back as the 1600's. While you are in Panni, if it interests you, you should infer to find out whether or not you can gain access to those records. I wish you the best on your trip.
Regards,
Anthony Mansolillo

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for your note. I will visit the gurch in Panni to see if they have information dating back farther than my grandparents. Where are the Family History Centers? Panni? Or another larger city?
I will go back as far as I can. I believe my family has information dating back to 1860 or so. I appreciate your help. Thank you.
