Saviano, Caserta?

Post by 2paz »

Ciao,

I've found multiple documents for my Great Grandmother's family that all indicate last residence and birth in Saviano and Nola. That makes enough sense except the province is listed as Caserta ("Saviano, Caserta", "Nola, Caserta"). I see these comunes are really in Napoli province? Was there a reorganization of this area after their departures in 1905-1908? Or am I misreading the entries and on the wrong path?

Thanks!

Saviano and Nola were part of the province of "Terra di Lavoro" (whose capital was Caserta) until 1927, when it was abolished. Then, the province of Caserta was established again in 1945, but they were no more part of it.
