scraig -

act is recorded on 12 apr 1870
date of death is 'ieri' - yesterday, so it is 11 apr.
age 70, cardolano (wool carder), both parents are deceased - "furono"
'marito di Maria di Bartolomeo' means husband of - so she was living at the time of his death. had she been dead, it would have read 'vedovo di ....' (widow of). i believe that it also states that there were also many adult children.

easy to miss with the word cinque being divided between two lines.

thank you both! So if I wanted to look for Maria di Bartolomeo's death I would look under Bartolomeo? That is her maiden name, not her father's first name? The reason I ask is because I have been searching through the Riccia records for various records this past year and have never seen Bartolomeo on any of the indexes. Usually you see the same surnames over and over in a town.

"Di Bartolomeo" is currently a surname in Campobasso but is not current in Riccia.

Hi

Just thought this might make things clearer:

Vedovo - widower (male)
Vedova - widow (female)

delli furono - deceased (plural)
del fu - deceased - (singular)

marito - husband
moglie - wife
