I found this in Castlegarden.org (via http://www.stevemorse.org/)

M.A. Lapelosa Widow / Widower, Grass Widow
Age 49
Sex F
Literacy U
Arrived 16 May 1888
Origin Italy
Port Naples & Palermo
Last Residence U
Destination New York
Plan Unknown
Ship Alexandria
Passage Unknown

The age seems ok and so the time range, but she's a widow. I couldn't find any Matteo Bruscella, I'll check some spell variations.

just an suggestion: Lapelosa and Bruscella surnames most probable was both present in Genzano town(Potenza province/Basilicata region)... however was an surname also from Triggiano(same province) and about the origin, this surname: Bruscella coming from an dialectal diminutive of AMBROGIO first name, that is "ambrotos" greek word, meaning "immortal".

I was curious where you were. It is always a different, but fun challenge to help our overseas "cousins" in find family here in the USA.
