I am looking for birth records, marriage, and/or any other information on Donato (Anthony) Soria (born July 13, 1870) and Carmella Greco (born June 14, 1871) (including information on their parents). Donato and Carmella had 9 children but the first two were born in Italy--I believe in/near Potenza. Lawrence Soria was born on September 20, 1894 and Maria was born on July 29, 1896--information on Lawrence and Maria would be great too!

Hi Kevin on Lawrence ( Lorenzo in italian spelling) WWII draft registration card, the birth place is "RUVO DOMANDO" that is the mispelled name of RUVO DEL MONTE in Potenza province....

In facts Lawrence full and correct italian name was Lorenzo SORIERO born in Ruvo del Monte on 20 Sep 1894 #89 son of Donato SORIERO 25 old, farmer, and of Carmina GRIECO

on the bottom the name is Lorenzo Soriero and on the birth act the registrar wrote the first name Donato as the father... just a error of registrar...

Thanks for information on this! When they came to the US, their names must have been mis-translated as they lived by the last name Soria. I do have some old records showing Soria spelled differently including Soriero. I have found the final resting place for Donato and Carmella (Carmina) as well as all of their children (all in Chicago area except one in Arizona) and they are buried under the name of Soria. It will be nice to archive their original Italian names!

I see that Lorenzo and Maria traveled to the US with their mother--any idea when Donato came to the US?
