Surname Mariorenzi

Post by James Graham »

Hi,

My name is Jim and I have begun my quest to find out more of my grandparents. My grandfather's last name is Mariorenzi, which seems to be very uncommon in my searches.
We believe he was born in or around the area of Monticello D'Alba but we have no written records.
What are good starting points when researching family?

Thanks

Suanj and Marty,

I believe you have tracked him down. That is his naturalization date. We have only verbal records except for the naturalization record, which is has no detail.
Thanks so much.
Now the next question, how does one go about obtaining the records from Italy?

I believe that you need-from Italy- just Tommaso birth certificate; you can request it writing a request in italian language and send it to:

Ufficio di Stato Civile
Viale Vittorio Veneto, 5
03045 Esperia (FR)
Italy

Marty,

Your information on my grandfather's naturalization led me to contact NARA in Boston. They already contacted me and his records are on the way.
At the same time I asked for my grandmother's and they have no record they say. Would they use her maiden name or married name in this type instance?
Her name is Erminia Paccasassi born 11 Dec.1906
