Cannarella, Alfano

Post by mcvega »

Hello,
I am trying to find some information on Rosa Cannarella, she was from Sicily possibly Cianciana area. She is my 4th Great Grandmother. I have no idea when she was born but she married Calogero Alfano and they had a son,Giovanni Alfano born in 1805 to 1846. Thank you for any information you can find.

send request on form letter located at www.circolocalabrese.com and the select GENEALOGY and locate form letter requesting the estratto di nascita of their son Giovanni Alfano in the STATO CIVILE, MUNICIPIO di Cianciana which will contain the Rosa Cannarella name and her husband Calogero Alfano If the document exists then you might want to locate Rosa's birth record. Yes I understand.. but the Church records are no availables, so we cannot search the baptism.. and ditto fo the marriage.. we know no the her death date.. because on Death act are many helpful infos...
however by LDS microfilms abt Cianciana
Italy, Agrigento, Cianciana - Census ( 1 )

Riveli di beni e anime, Cianciana (Agrigento), 1714-1816
Author: Sicilia. Deputazioni del Regno

https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... ,359316-50
you can find it on the censuses (Riveli) and so to have many infos...

Have you viewed the microfilm, at a Family History Center, that has the marriage record for Giovanni Alfano from 1823? The marriage acts from that time period should indicate whether the parents were still alive at the time of the marriage, and if they were, how old they were. (This information is not recorded by familysearch indexers, so you can't see it online.) Granted, the ages of the parents on marriage records were often inaccurate, but at least it will give you an idea of around when Rosa was born, if she was still alive in 1823. Moreover, if she was still alive at that time then you can look for her death record in the microfilms of Cianciana.
