Tini family from Cellino Attanacio/Teramo

Post by VickyLC13 »

Hi everyone! I've been researching my family history for a few years now and lately there is a lot more information available online :) However, I can't find much information on my great grandfathers family.

His name was Gaetano Tini, born 14 Jan 1897 in Cellino Attanacio, Italy. The ONLY reference I can find to family is on his immigration records from the Palermo ship (1914) which lists his nearest relative as father Raffaele in his hometown.

I found one entry on a Raffaele Tini born 14 May 1857 to parents Angelo Tini and Eleanora Scarpone (familysearch.org), but I'm not even sure that is the right person. I've also found references to a Msgr Raffaele Tini from this area (there is actually a Piazza in Atri listed on the map for him).

My grandfather (Gaetano's son) has no information on any other family. Gaetano lived the rest of his life in Pennsylvania and died there in 1977. My great aunt, also Gaetano's daughter, also has no information on his family???

If anyone has any information on Gaetano's family--parents, siblings... ??? Please let me know. I'm totally stuck and have searched everywhere I know from here in Maryland.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

The name of the town is Cellino Attanasio. There is at least one phone listing for someone with the last name of "Tini" in that town today.

As Marty noted, civil records for the years 1810-1910 are available for viewing on microfilm from FamilySearch at your nearest Family History Center.
