Births in Potenza

Post by bjrcornell »

George Ross Broncushio was born in 1851 in Potenza. I would like any information you can give
me on him. He sailed to New York in about 1880.

For reference purposes... is this your George?

Birthplace: Italy
Home in 1900: Spring Hill, Hand, South Dakota
Race: White
Gender: Male
Immigration Year: 1875
Relation to Head of House: Head
Marital Status: Married
Spouse's Name: Rosa M Bronguccio

The surnames Broncushio and Bronguccio do not exist in Potenza.
Perhaps the original spelling of the name (sounding similar phonetically) was Brancaccio?

There's civil records from Potenza, Potenza, Italy 1809-1910 on microfilm from FamilySearch.org: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... %20Library

Short term loans of microfilm cost $7.50 - you'll have to create a free account at FamilySearch.org and select your local Family History Center before you can order. The microfilm will be shipped to the Family History Center you selected as your local Center and will remain there for 90 days from the day it shipped (or a guaranteed minimum of 60 days with the film). The Center will have microfilm viewers for you to use whenever they are open.
