Certificate of Naturalization 1918 DeLuca

Just wondering if this is how they did it in 1918!

The certificate of naturalization lists and physically describes my grandfather. It also lists by name and age his wife and 4 children (the last 2 children were born in the US). Do you have any information about this format? Was that the standard practice?
Was the naturalization for the whole family, or just for him?? Thanks for any insights!

Are you sure you see the names of the wife and children on the "Certificate" of naturalization, rather than the "Petition for Naturalization"? Usually a certificate applies to only one person.

If your GF's wife was also foreign born, she would have naturalized (by derivative citizenship) concurrent with her husband's naturalization. The same principle would have applied to any of their foreign born children. This changed with the the Cable Act of 1922 ("Married Women's Independent Nationality Act).

Yes, after his name and physical description it has printed on it "name, age and place of residence of wife"......."names, ages and places of residency of minor children....." and goes on to "entitled to be so admitted as a citizen of the United States of America. His wife was born in Italy, as were some of the children. My mother was the last child and she was born in the US the year before. So can it can be considered confirmed that this document granted US citizenship to all not born in the US?
