Guiseppe Aresca and Luigia Galliano

Post by RosalindJones »

Hi - I am trying to find out more information on my great great grandparents - based in Mombercelli.

We think Luigia (is this the Italian spelling for Louisa?) had a nephew - Baldisarri Galliano who moved to Southampton, England and then London.

I have written to the Council in Mombercelli regarding their son Agostino, but have not heard back - am I being too impatient after a fortnight?

Does Mombercelli have a local history society does anyone know?

Suanj :-) posted the birth act for Baldassare in your previous thread...

Some civil records for Mombercelli are available at this site:
http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... mbercelli/

Some comunes/towns will respond within a month, others take much longer, and still others do not respond at all. :-)

sorry - meant to add, the Baldissari Galliano is the man who ran The Florence in Southampton with my great grandfather - as his surname was Galliano we think he must have been a cousin or relative. His wife was Adela Gabetta. They both died in the 1920s here in London.
Very exciting to now have the names of our great great great grandparents!
