The record said he died on 23 Oct (yesterday relative to the reporting date, 24 Oct), was age 60, was married to Orsola Mineo, and had parents Carmelo (only 1 l) Napoli and Vincenza Pilato. However, the whole record appears to have been canceled.

Good Morning, Silly question, Were his parents alive when he died in 1868? I don't see the word fu in front of their names.carubia wrote:Prego.

He was 60 years old. How likely was it that his parents were still alive?

I read "estinti degli" before their names meaning they were deceased-plural of the word estinto-dead, deceased, or departedstokkster1 wrote:Good Morning, Silly question, Were his parents alive when he died in 1868? I don't see the word fu in front of their names.carubia wrote:Prego.

And my GF's father was still alive (at 99) when my GF was 71. But that was in 1980 and presumably your father was 65 not too long ago. This death record was from 1868.stokkster1 wrote:Well my dad was 65 and my grandma was 85 and still alive so I would say Likely

You mean "degli estinti," but yes, that's what is says. Estinti is similar to the English words extinct and extinguished.erudita74 wrote:I read "estinti degli" before their names meaning they were deceased-plural of the word estinto-dead, deceased, or departed

Oops-was running out and didn't realize that I typed the words in the wrong order. But, yes, that is what I meant.
