Anxiously waiting Naturalization results - Any insight?

Post by matt329 »

Hey everyone awaiting a reply from my FOIA request regarding my great grand fathers naturalization in hopes of obtaining Italian citazenship. Maybe you guys could give me clues to what my chances are that he naturalized after 1921??

- He submitted papers by 1920 according to the 1920 cencus

- 1930 cencus states he was naturalized

- Wife was still an alien in 1930 even though he was naturalized. Married before the 1922 cable act.

- Daughter also still an alien (italy born)

Don't know if this is helpful, but thanks!

The census information can be quite inaccurate...

If you provide names, dates, and other details, we may be able to assist you in finding more clues to his naturalization :-)

Hey guys sorry for the late reply. He did not register with the federal but local government so I've been waiting for a letter with the results from the USCIS.

His name was Giuseppe De Marco born in Italy on December 14th, 1889. A barber in Pennsylvania. I hope all his terrorist stuff does not delay my response from the USCIS -_-

thanks!

From the Pennsylvania Eastern District Naturalization Indexes...
Giuseppe DeMarco - filed in District court?
Do any of these #s match what you do have?
P(etition) #56073
C(certificate of Naturalization) #1827932 [admitted 2/15/23]
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KXFM-JHJ

BTW - I noticed that you have a DOB of 14 Dec 1889 for Giuseppe
--- On his WWI alien registration card, he lists the year as 1887...
Records CAN be inaccurate, but I am wondering if this discrepancy may be impacting the search for his naturalization record.
