Marriage Record Translation
I would like a translation of the attached 1897 marriage record for Giachino Sinatra and Francesca Insinna.
Thank you very much.

Thank you once again.
Although previously a "master" in Poland and Russian document translations, this is my first foray into Italy. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
In the attached Marriage Record above (same page, two views) for Giachino Sinatra and Francesca Insanna, I know the bottom of the form contains a list of the supplemental documents that were presented.
Could you please translate these?
Thanks again.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
The only documents mentioned were the publication of banns on 21 and 28 of February of the current year.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
Actually, it doesn't list the documents that were submitted. During that time period, that list would appear in the Marriage Publication. Instead it just says when the marriage banns were published, on 21 Feb and 28 Feb of the same year.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
Any chance of a word by word translation so I can relate the Italian to the English?
Thank you. You guys are great.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
There are 2 words I can't make out, but here is what is says:
"I documento presentato è il certificato contessante[?] l'eseguita pubblicazione del presente matrimonio in questo comune nei giorni ventuno e ventotto febbraio corrente anno.
Letto il presente atto a tutti gl'interressanti l'hanno meco firmato meno la sposa che disse non ____"
The translation is "the document presented is the certificate [attesting to] the performed publication of this marriage in this town on the days 21st and 28th of February in the current year.
I have read this record to all concerned (and) they have signed with me, except the bride who spoke not [signed]."
The word that appears to be "contessante" is not a real word AFAIK, but I can't figure out what else it could be. I can't make out the last word either, but it almost certainly is explaining that the bride spoke but didn't sign, probably because she was illiterate, which was common.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
Last word is sapere
So it appears that she said she didn't know how to sign
I believe the other word may be contestuale

Re: Marriage Record Translation
It looks like the writer transposed the "u" and the "a" in "contestuale" then.

Re: Marriage Record Translation
Thanks again, guys.
I really do appreciate it.
Will try to leave you guys alone for a bit, as my wife and I are flying out to the Left Coast [West Coast, American humor] to spend the week with her 93 year old mother. I have a list of chores to perform on her home while we are out there in San Diego.
I am on the East Coast, in the Virginia suburbs outside Washington, DC.
I know Terry is in/from Japan; how about you Tessa?
Ciao for the time being ...

Re: Marriage Record Translation
On one of the emails from you, I thought it carried the name Terry.
My mistake, then, carubia, what is your name.
