Help finding naturalization records

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Help finding naturalization records

Post by oxymoron00 »

My great great grandfather Silvio Sericola immigrated to the US in 1902. He lived in Minersville, PA and married Josephine/Peppina Angelucci in 1907. Their first child, Frank, was born in 1908 (my great grandfather). Silvio was born on April 23 1880 in Castel del Monte, Abruzzo, Italy. On the 1910 census, it says he had submitted his papers for naturalization and when he registered for the WW1 draft in 1917, the draft document says that he had become a naturalized citizen by then.

I'm having trouble finding any more information on his naturalization though.

Also, he definitely did not naturalize prior to my great grandfather's birth; this led me to believe that I was eligible for dual citizenship. However, I read something the other night about that not mattering if Silvio naturalized prior to 1912; does anyone know anything about that?

Thanks!
