Girl born to Salvatore/Laura Drisco in Caserta

Hi,
I've attempted to find my GGrandmother's birth records, but have repeatedly failed. I believe she was born in Caserta, but other places, it's listed as Naples.

Her name was either Marie or Nellie. She used Nellie is her older years in the U.S., so I'm not sure what her birth name was in Italy. Is Marie an Italian name ever? Maria perhaps?

I know of no older siblings born in Italy.

Drisco is not found in todays phone book. COuld the name be Frisco?
Esposito is a surname found in Napoli and area .
You need to go back to the ship manifest and naturalization records to determine their names. A few weeks may not be enough time to solve this mystery withut professional help.

Drisco is the correct name, as this is on her marriage license. (Surname changes happened, of course...) I do not have their immigration/ship manifest details as of yet.

I do not believe so. She had siblings, Mary and Louis, (those names sound Americanized) who MIGHT have been older and born in Italy. And then siblings, Carolina (b. 1904), Rachael (b. 1905), Frank (b. 1908), who were all younger and born in the U.S. Carolina might have been born in Italy because they immigrated about that time, but I am unsure.

Hi suanj.
Thank you for looking, but as much as I roll that info around in my head, it doesn't seem to add up. That Maria Drisco, 21 years old can't be my GGrandmother since I am positive of my GG's DOB and she is too young to be her mother (my GGG) as well. There's a possibly, of course, that it is sisters Mary and Carolina, but I have no idea what surname Ciriello would be. Carolina was born in 1904 and was the oldest to live within our family, so I am sure of her age.

Born 8-27-1898 (I'm realizing now that it could be Naples and not Caserta-marriage license says Naples. Caserta was listed elsewhere, but I am struggling to find it.)

I am liking this census very much and did not have it. I believe Driscoll would be an incorrect entry by the census taker, but there is much here that does appear correct. Some of the children's names, I do not recognize, so I'm not 100% certain. This is a good start to try to find these people's passage and see if it adds up.

With that in mind, adelfio would you be so kind as to pass on the Nicolo info? Perhaps Nicolo could've become Nicholas?
