Hello.

Can I ask for some help translating the death record of Maddalena LaVia?

Many thanks!

She died on Nov 17, 1921 in the house on via S. Rosa. She was age 63 and a housewife who had been born in Agira. She was the daughter of dec Felice LaVia and dec Felicia Volpe. She was the widow of Filippo Commerci (surname is actually Commercio), and the wife of Marco Pacini (surname is actually Pacino).

Thank you, Erudita. Are death records for women typically listed using their maiden names?

Yes, they are in the surnames of their fathers or what we call maiden names.

I found the marriage record to Marco and am looking for the one to Filippo. I saw it in the index but still have to locate it.

marriage to Marco Pacino

Nov 20, 1919.

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Marco was age 79, a widower, born in Troina but resident in Agira. He was the son of dec Luigi Pacino and dec Santa Messina, both who lived in Troina. Maddalena was a widow, age 72, a housewife, daughter of dec Felice LaVia and dec Filippa Volpe (mother's first name is different in this record). Publications were on the 9th and 16th of Nov

The Filippo I saw in the index was not her husband. She was already deceased by the time of his marriage in 1923 and he was a young person.

You're very welcome. I can't find the marriage to Filippo listed in either of the marriage indices.
