Where did it originate?

Post by BrownEyedGirl »

Hi Everyone!

Could anyone tell me which region the surname, Mangieri, originated in?

Thank you!

I've read that this surname is characteristic of Padula near Salerno and areas of Matera. It may derive from a nickname or be a variation of a medieval name of Germanic origin. You should contact the museum of surnames
located in Padula, Salerno. Here's a link.

I've read that others have had success with this place. Hope you do too. You're very welcome.
