What is the full name and death date of the person?

You may get lucky and find it on Fulton History (scanned newspaper microfilm depository):

http://www.fultonhistory.com/

You could make a formal request to the Queen's library:

http://www.queenslibrary.org/research/a ... e-requests

The Archives at Queens Library conducts obituary and death notice searches for customers. When submitting a request please follow these instructions.

Include the complete name of the individual(s). If the surname has an unusual spelling please provide variant spellings.
Include the complete date of death including day, month and year. Requests that include only the month and year will be returned. Information found in the Social Security Death Index will sometimes include a complete date of death; sometimes it only includes the month and year.
There is a fee of $8.00 US per name. Please make the check or money order payable to the Queens Library.
Customers are limited to three names per request.
The fee(s) is nonrefundable.
Turnaround time is 5 to 10 business days upon receipt of request and payment.
The mailing address is:
Queens Library
Archives at Queens Library
89-11 Merrick Boulevard
Jamaica, N.Y. 11432

Please be sure to include the name Archives at Queens Library. Without it the Archives’s response will be delayed. For more information please call (718) 990-0770

1951 Obituary

Post by luclor97 »

Sorry for the delay.

The full name of my ancestor is Theresa Ward (Foppiani) born in 1888 in SO Orange, New Jersey and buried in March 31, 1951 in St Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. I think that she was survived by her husband George Ward and two daughters, Audrey and Muriel.

I found nothing in Fulton...

Thanks for your help

I would request the obituary from the library I posted above. Is there particular information you're looking for in the obituary?

On a side note, the research fees charged by that cemetery are insane.

http://www.ccbklyn.org/services/genealo ... formation/

But they do have a free online locator:

http://www.ccbklyn.org/information-news ... e/#results

She and George L. Ward are both buried at Section: 19 | Row: EE | Plot: --- | Grave: 106.

They and their daughters all appear in the 1940 census (see attached).

Yes C_Artale,
Theresa and her husband George are buried in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
This 1940 Census is correct...

I would like to find the obituary Theresa Ward to find out where she lived when she died ...

Thanks
