Help with Names...
Help with Names...
Hiya, you may know me as Dan from the De Sio thread, however, I've crossed over here for some desperate help with working out what certain names are as the handwriting as far beyond my capabilities of reading!
Here are the names I need helping with at Ellis Island...
The name of Alfonso Castelluccio's uncle (on the join a relative question):
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipM ... 2669010362&
and of Giuseppe D'Amore's cousin (on whether to join a relative question)?
http://ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup_wei ... &line=0019
And Carmine Cascino's relative (on whether to join a relative question)...
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipM ... 2502030804&
And the name of Alfonso Mingo's father (next of kin question) on...
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipM ... 0769%2ETIF
If anyone is able to help me then I would be eternally greatfull,
Many thanks in advance,
Dan

Re: Help with Names...
Thank you very much.
However...
Also, does it say how vito gaudino is related to Carmine?
Plus, if anyone could give me a second oppinon on the names, just to check. Especially as I can't find their records on Ellis!!
Thank you sooo much!
Dan

Re: Help with Names...
Are you sure? The first doesn't seem an R (as you can see, the R is generally broader) and at the end of the surname the T seems so clear...suanj wrote: Gerardo CAROPRESO
Anyway I'm not sure of CACOFERITO (seems a strange surname, don't you think?), so it's possible that CAROPRESO marks the point

Re: Help with Names...
Thanks guys!
However, I'm uncertain with the names:
Lezieri Iorio
and
Gaudino Vito
I can't locate their records on Ellis Island, and they would have, almost definately, traveled from Italy to America...
Kindest Regards,
Dan

DANN
Don't forget, they may have gone through Canada to get to USA or just another US port (Boston, Philadelphia, etc).
