Interesting links

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Note:

Incipit's links are less "genealogical" and much more "historical" and "archival"...

Make your choice...

There is no choice to be made, as both have their place........genealogy and history go hand in hand.

The topic is "Interesting links" and I posted what I thought to be an interesting link. It is not a contest.

Sadly, I do not have enough information on my great great grandfather.......only that his name was Alessandro Grifoni and he was married to Caterina Rapetti. They lived in Talamello when they had my great grandmother Angela Grifoni. Angela said they were desended from a noble family.....Suanj has done much research and has spoken to my relatives in Talamello......my dream is to come to Italy for research but even that seems to be far in the future............
