Sharon,

Are these the same attchmentments posted in the Emigration, Immigration, Naturalization and Italian citizenship Thread?

mfjp has offered a different view to make you attchment more legible but the first document is difficult to read because of the size. Could you rescan and re post larger...but please only post it under one thread.

Maria Bambina's doc different view...

Thanks

Nuccia,

Thank you for the info. I didn't see it posted in the other forum so I didn't think it went through. I'll try to scan the birth record again and send it to this post.

suanj,

I am having a hard time with the birth document file. It is very large and if I go any bigger it gets to large to send. Is there another way maybe though e-mail that I can send it to you? I may also be able to write it out for you if you think that will help. Also, you said you already posted the translation of the other document? I haven't found the thread?

Thanks again,
Sharon

Sharon, maybe you can continue to post on that thread just to keep info all together? I'll try to merge the two posts tomorrow.

Thanks

suanj,

Could you clarify for me Scolastica Manfredi. Is that correct her last name is Manfredi and her father was Raffaele?

Sweet dreams,

Hi Sharon,

I wish I could see a good copy of the Birth Act of Assunta. However, here is most of the translation. I cannot make out what they are stating about the "mother" of the child.

Sorry I'm not much help.
Trish

Act of Birth
Assunta Francesca Filippa Bonelli
Born: April 2, 1895

Number 69

In the year one thousand eight hundred ninety-five, of day three, of April,
at the hour ante-meridian hour eleven and minute forty, in the Town Hall.

Before me Attorney Councilman Vincenzo Sicaro (not sure of spelling)
Official of Vital Records of the Town of Venafro appeared Nicola Bonelli, of age thirty-two, shoemaker, residing in Venafro, who has introduced at the hour ante-meridian four and minute five, of the day two, of the current month, in the house on Via Leopaldo Pizzo, at number 72, (something about a unmarried woman - I cannot make it out for sure)

and born a baby of female sex which he has presented and has given the name of Assunta, Francesca, Filippa

To this action which witnesses have been present, Giovanni Del Vecchio, of age forty-five, land-owner, and Giuseppe Faglietti, of age forty, land-owner, both residing in this Town. We therefore have formed the present act, which has been written and read and signed.

Nicola Bonelli
Giovanni Del Vecchio
Giuseppe Faglietti
Vincenzo Sicaro

Here is the exact translations of the second document you posted. I hope it helps,

Trish

Act of Birth
Maria Bambina Gaglia
Born: March 31, 1874

*Notation: On 17 December 1895 married Bonelli Nicola

In the year one thousand eight hundred seventy-four, of the day two, of April, at the hour ten ante-meridian, in the Town Hall of the Town of Cantalupo Nel Sannio, before me Gennaro Di Maio, Mayor, and the Official of Vital Records of the Town, of the District of Isernia, Province of Molise,

appeared Pietrangelo Gaglia, (son) of the late Arcangelo, of age thirty-five, shoemaker, born and residing in this Town, introduced a baby of female sex and he has declared, that the same was born on day thirty-one, of March, at the hour of ten post-meridian, and of his legitimate wife, Scolastica Manfredi, (daughter) of the late Raffaele, of age thirty-two, seamstress, born in this Town, and who lives in the house of their own home on Contrada Via Del Popolo,

The same has also declared to give to the infant the name of Maria Bambina

To this action which witnesses have been present, Mariangelo P??? (son) of the late
Pietro, of age fifty-four, and of Gaetano Piccia, (son) of the late Pietro, of age forty-eight, farmers, born and residing in this Town. We therefore have formed the present act, which has been written above and not signed by the informant nor the witnesses for they do not know how to write.
Smile for me!:)
