Surnam: ROSATO

Post by Cadia »

Just wondering whether anyone can give me ideas on how to search for info on my great grandfather. His name was Pasquale Rosato and married to a Rosa Ferragamo from Apice, near Benevento italy. All I know is that he arrived in America, Ellis Island around 1909 and that's all I know. How do I find out more?

Help is needed,
Cheers Cadia

By providing any and all info you may have, dates of birth, or an estimate, childrens names, and state in which they lived....will help to narrow down the right info...

*edit* No family....Pasquale was more than likely a boarder.

Thanks everyone and Thanks Nuccia..Wow, think you've got it how amazing! I know his children's names were Concetta, Rosa and Michele. How do I obtain Census Information so I can learn more about him.

Your help is much appreciated,

Hi Cadia,

Glad thats the manifest you were looking for. Is the census record wldspirit found the correct family? If not, we will need to look for it. I haven't been able to find your grandmothers manifest yet..were the children born in Italy or the US?

Have to go to my sons school concert but I will look for you when I get back.

My great Grandmother Rosa never went to America with Pasquale. He apparently went there for work. Rosa and her children remained in Apice Province of Benevento (Campania region of Italy).

We won't be able to find anything about your grandmother and children online if they remained in Italy. Have you considered ordering microfilms from the Family History Center if they're available?

Check this site for more information on obtaining films:

The LDS has the civil records for Apice 1809 to 1860 ( see family search. org site provided by Nuccia above). For all records not on the film, you will have to contact the city hall.

Ufficio di Stato Civile
Comune di Apice
Piazza Municipio
82021 APICE (BN)
ITALY
Phone Number: (+39) 0824-920029
Fax: (+39) 0824-920180
Email: info@comune.apice.bn.it

All requests should be in Italian & when writing to the comune include a self addressed return envelope, a copy of your photo ID & 2 international reply coupons. These can be obtained from your post office & cover the cost of the return postage.

Hope this helps.
