Looking for information on Angelina Valente from Cervinara

Post by valente »

I am just starting my research on my mother Angelina Valente. She was born in Cervinara, Italy. I have very little information regarding her, I was 3 when she passed away. She moved from Cervinara to New York. If this name is familiar to anyone please let me know. I would appreciate any information. Thank you very much.

Elizabeth,

Assuming your mother's maiden name was Valente.

POSSIBLE SHIP MANIFEST

Manifest for 11 March 1929 for the vessel Conte Grande arrivng NY:

Maria Albarelli, age 29, his wife
Angelina Valente, age 3, daughter
All show place of birth as Cervinara.

Can you verify Luigi and Maria as your maternal grandparents?

Wow! Thank you soooo much. You have no idea how awesome it was to read your note. Yes I can verify that Maria was the name of my maternal grandmother, but I do not know the name of my grandfather. The timeline would also seem to match. I think this is a match for my family. Thank you for this information it means a great deal to me.

Hi Elizabeth,

Has your mother passed away? Parent information maybe on her death certificate. I say maybe because it depends on what the informer know about her.

Does/did your mother have any siblings? 1st names & year of birth?

A possible for the 1930 census?

Estimated birth year: abt 1926
Relation to Head of House: Daughter

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this information. I am on cloud nine tonight! I contacted my father who has indicated he has documents stored away that he can access for me. As soon as I hear from him I will post again. THANK YOU!

I just received a phone call from my father. He confirms that my mothers mother's maiden name was Albarelli. He also confirms that my mothers father's name was Louis. He stated that he worked on the railroad...I see on the cesus information that Louis listed himself to be a laborer on the railroad. My father indicated that he later became a conductor. Also that my mother's brothers name was Italo. So to sum up...all the information you have sent me is correct. I have found my relatives! Thank you so much, I am new to researching this kind of stuff and without all the information you have given me I would have been lost. Grazie!!!

Hi, I am also looking for Valentes from Cervinara. My grandfather was Marco Valente, who arrived at Ellis Island from Cervinara in 1903. (I have found the manifest at EllisIsland.org. They arrived 11 Jun 1903, when my grandather [whose name is mistyped as "Mario"] was four years old.)

I am currently working in Genova, and I would like to make a trip to Cervinara, and possibly find distant relatives of mine. So, if anyone has some suggestions, please let me know.

(Riesco parlare un po' d'italiano, se sia importante.)

Hello,
I am the granddaughter of Angelina Valente.
I am visiting Italy for my first time next week and am interested to visit where my grandmother/great parents lived. Is there a way to find an address in Cervinara?
