D'Alessandro Name

Post by stardst »

Hi, I am new to this and was hoping somebody could direct me. I am looking for records for the D'Alessandro Family. My g grandasther was born in Boscotrecase, Italy and lived in Bororeale (I think). I have all the US records but I do not know where to write for birth and church records.

Could somebody please help me.

Thanks

Hi,

There are limited civil records for the towns availble from LDS:

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... umns=*,0,0

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... umns=*,0,0

If you aren't familiar, here is a post by Trish on how to use the records:

Here is a link for information on the towns to write for records. I believe Bororeale should be Boscoreale.

http://en.comuni-italiani.it/063/index.html

Here is a form letter to send for records in Italy:

http://www.anzwers.org/free/italiangen/ ... #relatives

or

http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... /index.asp

If you write, our Italian members have advised to send 2 international postal reply coupons and copy of your ID.

Just a interesting fact about the D'Alessandro name. In Montalto Uffugo, Cosenza the D'Alessandro's were nobility. Something you may want to look into.

Have a cousin who has done research on the D'Alessandro surname from Boscoreale (correct spelling of the town). How can she contact you?

The message about D'Alessandro and Boscoreale (correct spelling of the town) was for Stardst. I sent her a private message as well.
