My grandparents were born in Ariano di Puglia (as far as I know). My grandfather was Francesco Riccio, born 1892. He had an older brother, Ottone, father was Michael, and mother Anna. He came to the US in 1910 and again in 1920.
He married Elvira Verosino, born about 1900. My mother and uncles say that she always told them that she was the illegitimate daughter of Don Pedro and a servant girl and was adopted by the Verosino family. I have no information about her heritage, nor do I know anything about Don Pedro or the Verosino's.
Any information about Ariano di Puglia of members of this family would be greatly appreciated.
