Hi dragon I found this article:
"....In White Plains there was a Sassarino Cafe and a Java Bean who are now closed because of the Starbucks and B &N cafe (ironically it serves Starbucks brand coffee) which serves coffee and espresso..."

source.

this is the only Sassarino surname that I found in NY area... maybe can help... suanj

ahahah nick is the nickname shortly.... I save the words when they do not serve, and in Italy we say "nick" for "nickname" so is more short..... ahahahah .... and knowing that we italians speak so much, the short words means that we speak more of "so much", and we save what is no necessary, saving our energies.... ahahahahahah... a word's economy.... ahahah ............( laughing.....!!!! suanj

Have you written:

Adoption and Medical Information Registry
new York State Department of Health
Empire State Plaza
Albany, NY 12237-0023

That is the place where they would know about adoption, etc in New York.

However, even if you are dealing with over 100 years ago, they may not release much information.

suanj -- did you ever learn how few words Italians have in relation to the English language? :?:
We have thousands more -- but the Italians have a much more beautiful way of using those few words! How many conjugations (tenses) of verbs Italians have -- and -- you have so many more ways of expressing Love! We say I love you -- pasta, strangers, friends, mothers, children, books, lovers -- Italians differentiate! Much more important to be able to say I love you with proper passion than say a long name! Ha!

Hi Sonata,

NY State will not release the names of natural parents, certainly those born before 1990. They will release some medical information now, but this is a new development. Birth certificates of adopted children make no mention of their being adopted. I have my sister's bc, and they show my parents as the mother and father.
