I'm looking for about JOHN CASCIO

HI, i'm italin fron sicily. My grandfather's name was Cascio Francesco. He was born on Lentini , Sicily, but his father went to usa (probably Omaha). His name was John Cascio. I have some picture of him. My Grandfhater, went to Usa to know his brother (that John had with another women). I woul to have some information about this family.

delonotte: puoi dirci l'anno di nascita e in che anno emigrò? e il nome del fratello in Omaha? Negli USa ci sono 168 persone morte con questo nome... nessuna in nebraska, quindi qualche altro dettaglio potrebbe giovare.... L'unico Cascio in Omaha fu:

Ciao, Sunay, intanto volevo ringraziarti per la avermi risposto in così breve tempo!

Ho appena chiamato a casa così da aver più informazioni possibili da mia madre.
Mio nonno materno si chiamava, Francesco Cascio, nato il 16 settembre del 1909. i suoi genitori erano Cimino Rosalia e Filadelfo Cascio ( che credo sia proprio la persona che tu hai trovato!). Filadelfo lascio la sicilia senza mai sposare Rosalia e solo nel 1952 riconobbe il figlio. In America, sposò un'altra donna (forse Concetta, ma non conosco il cognome)dalla quale ebbe altri 7 figli ( mia madre ricorda solo alcuni nomi : Joe Sam Alfio rosa laura?). Mio nonno (Francesco Cascio) aveva così ben sette fratellastri.
Vorrei riuscire a ricomporre la storia di questa famiglia.
Non so se hai letto l'altro mio topic.
Spero tu lo faccia e mi possa aiutare.
Ho 32 anni, mia madre è nata nel 1947 a Messina, purtroppo fu lasciata in Ospedale, e l'unica cosa che so è che le fu dato il nome di Vincenza Garanzio. Ho fatto molto ricerche sul cognome, e credo di aver trovato un legame anche se debole con la Calabria. Mia madre fu poi adottata da Francesco Cascio..di cui come hai ben capito..oggi cerco la famiglia. Mio nonno materno, non aveva altri parenti qui se non la madre, che lo ha cresciuto da sola.

Insomma, provo a capire quali sono le origini della mia famiglia!

well so the first name is no John, but Filadelpo(=Filadelfio) and sure it is the person found by familysearch... born in Lentini( Sicily) the 6 May 1888
and died in Omaha; he married in USA to another woman and had 7 children; Valeria know only some name: Joe, Sam, Alfio, Rosa...Laura with this data the our great member Vj(aka Valerie) can find by ancestry.com what will be possible find! abt your mother Vincenza Garanzio born in the 1947 in Messina, unknown parents, dear ValeriA I can to say theat normally it was given a fantasy surname... what it is possible to know it is almost the baptism act, maybe could be helpful... also by DNA testing and database it is possible some time to know more.. regards, suanj

Grazie ! davvero siete stati unici!
Suanj , so che è possibile che il cognome Garanzio sia inventato, ma dopo tanti anni di ricerca, mi sono resa conto che difficilmente la madre inventasse un cognome. A farlo nella maggior parte dei casi erano i responsabili degli orfanotrofi, nel caso in cui il neonato non ne avesse ricevuto uno dalla madre. Inoltre la mia speranza è legata proprio al fatto che non trovo molte traccia. Se fosse stato scelto un cognome qualunque magari ne sarebbe stato scelto uno più comune

Tutto quello che so:
Mia madre nasce all'ospedale piemonte di Messina, nel 1947 da una donna che non vuol essere nominata . Da alla bambina il nome Vincenza e il cognome Garanzio. Testimoni al parto due infermieri Sofia Antonino e Giona Silvestro. Subito dopo fu affidata alle cure del befretrofio di Messina, rimase li per diciotto mesi, dopo fu affidata ai miei nonni.

Hai potuto vedere la lista dei ricoverati in quel periodo?
You have tried to find the nurses? maybe they can remember something... You can look the inmate list in hospital in the right time period?
