Looking for Arico, Ilacqua, Ceglia, and Lombardi

Post by daenamousso »

Hi, I am looking for information on Filipa Arico (immigrated in 1920) and Matteo Ilacqua(immigrated around 1913), both from Spadafora, Messina, Sicily and Vincenzo Ceglia(immigrated between 1909-1913, left and came back in 1920) and Lucia Lombardi(immigrated in 1920) both from Airola, Italy. I am particularly interested in birth records, death records and marraige records. ANy help is appreciated :D

or rent Spadafora civil record microfilm to FHL (mormon church)

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... ato+civile++

or write to Archivio di Stato di Messina

http://www.archivi.beniculturali.it/UCB ... me=MESSINA

This is where to write to have civil records or certificates from Airola

Comune
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Corso Matteotti, 6
CAP 82011
Airola (BN)
Italy

anagrafe@comune.airola.bn.it

or rent Airola civil record microfilm, until 1860, to FHL (mormon church)

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... ato+civile++

or write to Archivio di Stato di Benevento

Grazi! Thank you very much! That is very helpful! Do you happen to know what I need to include when I write for the civil records? Do the offices request payment? And how would I make payment?

no sometimes they want the envelope and italian stamp to reply you, or some change to pay the copies of certificates, someone just reply without any problems.
It depends from municipality to municipality.
I hope it helps, bye Riccardo

I just sent emails to the Achivio di Stato di Benevento and Messina to ask for more information. Thank you. Do you know where I can obtain information on which churches served Spadafora and Airola?

Also, I am looking for a translation of the italian word "processetti", but I cannot find an equivalent Italian word. Do you have any clues to the meaning of this word? It is listed on the Mormon web site with the list of films that are available.

The Processetti (or Allegati) is a record where you can find all the civil and church records belonging to groom and bride ancestors, because at that time groom and bride had the authorization to get married from their direct parents and grandparents.

Here there is a link explaining everything

http://www.pricegen.com/resources/allegati.htm

I hope it helps,
bye Riccardo :lol:

Wow, Riccardo, you are good. I did read some of the testimonials about your services. I will keep that information handy if I do not find some of the information I am looking for. DO you have a certain price that you charge for finding this information? Also, since there is only one church in SPadafora, finding information should be relatively easy. However, in AIrola, there are 3 churches. Would I need to contact all three? I do not know where in Airola my family lived. I have checked the Italian white pages and have found many Lombardis still in the area, but no Ceglias. I know that my grandfather had two sisters who did not come to the USA. How could I find their information of their married last name? Would it be in the processetti ?
Also, if the Mormon church has not indexed anything since the 1860 records, how do I go about getting records between 1860-1920? :)

Riccardo,
What kind of records are available in Italy online? Do you have a census? Were passenger lists kept for people leaving Italy, or those who came back? I have checked out ancestry.it online, but it seems their records are very limited.

These are the records on line, divided by region (thanks to our great Suanj), there is not census or list of people who left Italy

Okay, It is him. I was able to access it. You are pretty good at reading the writing, I would have never gotten that!
I am going to try to access it from ancestry.com so I can print it with out having to pay for it!
Now, If I could only find the ones for Matteo Ilacqua and Filipa Arico I'd have them all!

Daenamousso,

These are from Ancestry.

See if these work for the manifest. Line 19.
