wife SICA CLEMENTINA (age 38,born approx in 1875)
daughter SICA BIANCA (age 11,born approx in 1902)

I got these infos from Ellis indeed...
Maybe Census shows where they were living at the time or if Domenico or Angela got married and had sons.

Ciao bull1982
Vedo che sei in Italia così provo a scriverti in italiano... :D

Buono Maggie Niece 3 anni nata nel New Jersey

grazie, ci sentiamo!

Hi folks!

I've been told that BLANCHE (Bianca) SICA (17 yrs old in 1920) probably got married and had a daughter called Domenica.
May someone confirm that on 1930 Census?

Thank you

Ciao Bull....

From 1920 Census the family was living in Manhattan, Cornelia Street number 30...
I checked Cornelia Street in 1930 Census, found an interesting record...

In 1930 at the 30 of Cornelia Street (Manhattan) were living:

Puna Angelina - Head - Widow - age 47 - born in Italy
" " Joseph - Son - Single - age 19 - born in Connecticut
" " Domenica - Single - Daughter - age 13 - born in New Jersey

Don't you think It's the same family of 1920 Census but with other spelling of the surname?? (Puna instead of Buono?)
Joseph in 1920 is listed as born in Connecticut and the daughter in 1920 was Madgie/Maggie born in New Jersey..... Maybe Maggie can be the americanized version of Domenica....

Line 71 of the manifest:

What you think about this?

Wow, it's definetively the same family.

A few questions...
Which surname should we use to reach Giuseppe (Domenica/Maggie's son)?
How could we know if Dominic Sica and his niece Blanche got married or died whitin the 10 yrs?

Thank you, Laura

PS:just practicing my english

Stessa cosa anche per me......

Just to resume:

Josep/Giuseppe Buono/Puna was Angelina's son
Domenica/Maggie/Madgie Buono/Puna was Angelina's daughter

I don't know how to find Blanche because if she was married in 1930 she is listed under the last name of her husband....
In 1930 Census I didn't find trace about Blanche Sica, so it's probably she was married......
Are you sure that Blanche had a daughter named Domenica or it's possible that Domenica was only Angelina's daughter?
Do you have others elements???

Hi,

Checking the http://www.italiangen.org/databaselist.stm
I found these other interesting records....

From New York City Brides Records Search:

Sica Bianca date of marriage: Aug 22 1927
Certificate number: 26485
Manhattan S200

Maybe you can request the certificate..... :)

From the same site:

NYC death index:
Sica Vincenzo 59 y Dec 7 1918 41756 Manhattan S200

This man was born in 1859, do you think can be Bianca's father?

Cool!

I did a backward research for Bianca Sica marriage record:

Lagrotteria Salvatore
Date:Aug 22, 1927
Manhattan
Certificate Number 26485

Do you think he's her husband?
Maybe we could check for surname Lagrotteria on Census 1930.

Yes, Vincenzo was Bianca's father.

Thank you!

Ciao Bull!!

Unfortunately my search about Lagrotteria in 1930 Census don't give good result, so I want to make you see this SSDI number:

Name: Joseph Buono
SSN: 085-03-8055
Last Residence: 10301 Staten Island, Richmond, New York, United States of America
Born: 16 May 1912
Died: 6 Oct 1997
State (Year) SSN issued: New York (Before 1951 )

Besides, I saw that when Domenico Sica arrives in USA (Dec 24, 1908) he was travelling with Carmine Buono , age 27, they were going to Coney Island... So it's probably that his sister Angela was married with someone of this family Buono (no with Carmine, he was married with Quadrino Giuseppina, if I see well) and later in 1930 Census the last name was crippled in Puna.....

:? Laura

Did you found something in your papers about Joseph.... (date of birth??)

I need help....

If this is the arrival manifest of Angela Sica (sept. 16, 1910) age 27, single, from Somma Vesuviana, mother's last name Allocca, and if I am right (my eyes are very tired...) she was going in New Haven Connecticut to meet her brother in law.....
Two things:
1) If this is the right record of Angela and she was single, the fact she had a brother in law seems that she had another married sister....
2) I think it's the right record because the first son Joseph was born in Connecticut...

Really I can't understand the name of the brother in law and most important the name of the street.....
If someone can decipher these names I can look the 1910 census....
The census is dated April 1910 but maybe I can find the right name of her husband family so we can say that Joseph is Buono or Puna....

Thank you!!!
