Second Opinion on My Translation

Post by aristides »

Can someone take a look at the following translation and let me know whether I did it correctly. The Italian is exactly as it occurs in the letter. Thanks for your help.

Sono la vostra nipote Gina che vi do le mie notizie che sto bene cosi spero anche di voi a della vostra famiglia.

Translation:

I am your niece Gina who sends you news that I am well and I hope that you and your family are well also.

nipote means granddaughter. I'm not an expert, but the rest is correct.

Nipote can go either way............niece or granddaughter. As Elizabeth said, the rest is OK.

nipote is for male and female persons; in english they are: nephew and niece, in italian only "nipote" for both.. regards, suanj
