Buono Family from Palermo to Easton Pennsylvania

Post by DeborahLar »

I am trying to find information about my grandmother Santa (Sadie) Buono. I believe she was born in Nov. 1901 and I found the ship manifest when she came to the USA from Palermo with her mother (Anna Pizzuto) and her siblings in 1905. They were headed to Easton, PA. Later my grandmother appears in New Haven, Connecticut where she was married to my grandfather Nicholas Aceto. I think my grandfathers name was Joseph and he came ahead of the family with an older son Ciro.

Any suggestions on how I can find the ancestral town in Sicily?

Here is the 1909 arrival for Di Buono Santa travelling with her mother Anna Pizzuto and sib Giovanni, Lucio, Francesca and Giuseppe...
They were going to meet the Father/husband Giuseppe Di Buono in Easton PA and declared Termini as last residence (maybe Termini Imerese ?)

Thanks to all you helped me here. This is definitely my family in Easton Pennsylvania. I would never have thought to look under LoBuono. Thank you so much. Now that I know the commune Santo Stefano di Camastra in the Province of Messina is where my family is from, should I write to someone there to see if I can find birth records?

Grazia to all who provided assistance here. My family is forever greatful!

Sincerely,

Deborah Aceto Larsen, the first born daughter of Nicholas Joseph Aceto who's mother was Sadie Buono! :D

This is Santo Stefano di Camastra civil record office, where to request civil records and certificates of your ancestors
