Papers to work in Italy?
Papers to work in Italy?
I live in the US and recently got my Italian citizenship. I now plan to go to Italy to teach. A potential employer is asking if I have the right to work in Italy. Do I have to get additional paperwork (Residence Permit or Work Permit) from the Italian consulate or do anything else to legally work in Italy for more than 6 months?
Re: Papers to work in Italy?
If you are an Italian citizen, there are no restrictions to your right to work in Italy for any length of time. Simply tell your employer that you are a citizen. This will certainly make it easier for them and will put you at the top of the list of potential employees.

Thanks,
That has always been my understanding.
