Looking for Ranieri

Post by ranierifamily »

I am researching family history. Looking for my great grandfather Natale Ranieri born Feb 3, 1889 in Italy, married Mary Pettianato who was also born in Italy around 1895. When Natale was 18 yrs old he immigrated to America on the Prinzess Irene from Naples, Italy to Philadelphia. I can find no record of him before or after that. Help please.

Very nice find, Valarie.

Pretty interesting how Natale morphed into Christ(mas) on the 1920 census.

Hey Biff!

Thanks for the smile - I never would hve made the connection.

Having problems again with ancestry.
Not sure what's going on, the site seems to become unstable
on weekends.

No doubt there are plenty of records still to be found for this
family :D .
Before ancestry started having problems, I was looking for
Mary's family in Cook county in 1910...
Her manifest may be a challenge w/o her parents names.
I did notice a different spelling in Calabria: Pettinato

Thanks!

Ditto on Ancestry being a pain in the "tuches" on the weekends.

Mary Pettianato who was also born in Italy around 1895

Pettianato/Pettinato? Family

Interesting census, right age and immig year.
Would need to confirm this is Mary’s family
1910 census

Home in 1910:
622 Dekoven, rents
Chicago Ward 19, Cook, Illinois

head Pietro Pettinato 50 (abt 1860) IT
- married 19 yrs (abt 1891)
- immig 1900
wife Mariangela 39 (abt 1871) IT
- 3 children born, 3 children living
- immig 1901
daughter Maria 16 (abt 1894) IT
- immig 1901
daughter Jane 2 (abt 1908) IL
son Joseph 5/12 (abt 1909) IL
(note: very large gap in years between birth of Mary
and Jane)

Several lines away, a couple of Ranieri boarders…
