Searching for Pasquale Pascucci

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Searching for Pasquale Pascucci

Post by Cecelia1 »

I understand this is a common name in Italy. Pasquale emigrated to US in 1867 and arrived on Sept 1867. He was 19? May have been traveling with Gustale Gianini or Guiseppe Grecho. I have fuzzy passport that we cannot read. Maybe he came through Marseille France. Passport has date of Geneve 10 September 1867? He was catholic

What is LIVOURNE? It is on the passport

I have looked for a year for information on what port he came into.

Can anybody help me find his passport application in Italy? thanks Cecelia

Great Great grandaughter of Pasquale

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Livorno is a province and a city in Tuscany. In English, it is sometimes called Leghorn. This sounds like the French version of the name.

Thank for all the help... Yes.. this is the family. I have located all of the US info that is available. I have even found all their graves, immigraion and naturalization papers, etc.BUT.. I have not been able to locate anything as to the boat he arrived on or information on his family in Italy. I am looking now for Italian type info. Was hoping there was some way to get passport information, birth info in Italy. Any ideas

You need to have the town (comune) of birth in order to get birth information. Do any of the records you have indicate a town of birth? As I said before, Livorno is a province as well as a comune. The family history center does have records for Livorno, but they look like mainly British records.

Maybe suanj has some better ideas.

Same problem with Naples and Genoa, they are both provinces and big cities. :( Do you know Cristina's maiden name?

Panella, Pennella, Penalla. Maybe her fathers name was frank and mother was Rose. They are listed in obit.. The story in the family goes that Pasquale was around 19 and she was around 13?? They meet on the boat...married in Raleigh, NC and somehow got to Wilmington NC and later in Danville, VA . His naturalization papers say he came to US on Sept 26, 1868 and was naturalized in Philadelphia on 1-1-1881.

thank you. It could be Nativa di Manfiodivia, Marficovetive, Natuiesila. We did read where they left Marrietta France on 28 April1868. On the passport it appears to ask him who is meeting in USa. It is very clear and say Gustave Gianini and Ginsappe Grecho with a date of 10 Sept 1867. With all the immigration records you would think that I could locate the boat they arrived on and the port they came into. I have looked for over a year.. no luck
