There is the comune of Longobardi in Cosenza, Calabria. There is also a section, Longobardi, in the comune of Vibo Valentia, province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria.

In order to search in Italy, you need the correct spelling of the name and the correct comune. There are many more people with the name Sicari in Calabria, only one family with the name Sigari in Calabria.

Hi J....I got your pm, it would be much more helpful if you post here in the forum, we have wonderful members here who could find the proverbial needle in the haystack. Provide as much detail as possible.....full names, spouse, and any known children. Include all possible places they lived, and approximate birth dates if known. By completing all US research first, you may uncover the exact origin in Italy, as well as the correct spelling of the name.
Hope this helps!! :)

I have found out that Vincenzo also went by the name of James (which was his middle name).

Last name could have been Sicari, Sigari or Sigar. I have found his name spelled all of these ways so far.

He was born in Longa Bardi, Italy on February 9, 1889.

He came to America in March 1907 under the name Vincenzo Sigari.
Then again in 1910 under the name Vincenzo Sicari.

I was also told that his father left the family and went to Argentina and his mother died giving birth to him.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

may be it's not Longa Bardi BUT 'Lombardia' (a northern region of Italy, not a town).

SICARI is often an southern family name.

saluti!
