I am looking for any information that can be provided on my Great Grandmother Carmella Natale (spelling?)
From the census reports listed in Allegheny County in Pensylvania (1920)
She married Francesco Cinquegrana at the age of 13 which would be around 1890-1893, they changed thier name to Granny/Grainey, her first son was born around 1893 (David)
It states on the 1920 census that she came to the US on 1887, I have searched CastleGarden and have not had any luck finding a young female abt (10 yrs of age). She list naturalization in 1895, same year as Francesco, I am assuming that once the husband is naturalized that the wife is also. I was unable to find any papers on her but I did find some on Franceso.
Carmella (Carmel) Natale/Cinquegrana
Re: Carmella (Carmel) Natale/Cinquegrana
This might not be relevant to your search but for the sake of correct spelling, the name is spelled CARMELA.
Re: Carmella (Carmel) Natale/Cinquegrana
If Carmela Natale came to the US with her mother, the mother would have been traveling under her maiden name. It is possible that Carmela is listed under her mother's maiden name rather that her own name of Natale.
Re: Carmella (Carmel) Natale/Cinquegrana
Natale is the Maiden name, thank you.
Re: Carmella (Carmel) Natale/Cinquegrana
I was talking about Carmela's mother's maiden name, not Carmela's.
Re: Carmella (Carmel) Natale/Cinquegrana

Was that legal???
