Are you looking for an Italian surname? Do you need more information about your family heritage?
This is the right place to start your genealogy search.
I am new to this forum and I am hoping that somebody might be able to help me out.
I am looking for any information on Pietro Agazzi born in around 1852 in Italy. I believe that he might have been born in Bergamo in Lombardy, however I'm not 100% sure.
I am looking for any information but in particular information so that I can get a birth certificate for him and possibly his father and mother.
Have you checcked on UK BMD for his marriage or death certificate? Do these state where he originated from in Italy?
The surname Agazzi is very widespread in Lombardy, also in Emilia Romagna and a number in and around Roma. So if you could provide information, it would be helpful.

Maybe you should try researching the other italian names in the census data ,I think you will probably find either relations or families from the same area of italy as your ancestor.

I would need to ask elba since she is familiar with English records if the marriage and death documents may list the place of birth of parents names.
A British death certificate 'may' help, but it may not... here are links for a death and a marriage certificate - as you can see the details are not complete and to obtain a copy is expensive unless you are CERTAIN to have the right person (£7 per copy)...

Thank you.
Hi Raymond I suggested you by email that is possible that Pietro Agazzi born in Parma area.... also Zazzi surname is of same area, it is a italian surname, and also if on the censuses Pauline is listed as french, the surname is a italian surname coming from same area (Parma).... I believe around Borgotaro, Bardi, Bedonia towns..... if you have more infos abt Pietro Agazzi, maybe it will be possible a search in Parma State Archive... regards, suanj

I have now managed to find out that Pietro Agazzi's Father was called Antonio Agazzi and I have found out that he was not alive in 1872 and so died before that date. He was an agricultural Labourer in Italy.
Unfortunaly this is the only information that I have managed to get from Pietro and Polinas marriage certificate.
If somebody can help me find a birth certificate for Antonio that would be great.

Investigative and genealogical research pertaining to adopted ancestors or those ancestors born outside marriage presents particular challenges.
