Allegati in Latin

Post by michaeldi »

I have recently found some great records in the Allegati film in Latin and am having some difficulty understanding them. I have looked at many online sources, but what I am having difficulty understanding are some of the abbreviations. Does anybody know of any good sources to assist in reading records in Latin? I have attached one record as a reference. Any help is greatly appreciated!

This might help you out.

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/ ... LLatin.ASP

Select the catagory at the top then the letter from the alphabet. Includes keywords, dates, numbers etc.

There is a forum member (LucaP) that's great with Latin but I haven't seen him on the forum in a while. Hopefully he will see this post at some point and might be able to help. He's outstanding.

Thanks Billie! I have been using this site and it is very helpful. The abbreviations are somewhat difficult. These are transcripts from church records, some from the 1700's so they are full of information.

Thanks again
