DiScipio, Priore, Tomassetti

Post by mmet67 »

I need any information anyone may have on these names. My grandfather was Pasquale DiScipio and migrated here from Italy when he was 21. He was born March 3, 1880 and died Nov. 2, 1948. His father was, I believe, Domenico Vincenzo DiScipio and his mother, Camilla Tomassetti. I can go farther back on his side. Here is where I am running into problems. My grandmother migrated here from Italy in or around 1913. She was born Nov. 19, 1892 and died Dec. 7, 1971. They were married here in the USA. They dropped the "Di" off the last name and left it Scipio. Her parent's names were Salvatore and Francesca. Her brothers and sisters were Angelina, who married John Marcantonio, Giovannia, who married Alfred Baldessare, Gemma, who married Ferdnand Rouvier, and her brother, Agapito Priore, who died in 1979. I don't know if she had others. I also don't know if they stayed in Italy or moved. Her maternal grandparents were Michael and Filomena Sarrocca. I cannot find anymore history on her side of the family.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Yes, that is my family. My grandfather was Pasquale Di Scipio (when he became a citizen of the US, he dropped the "Di" and used the letter "D" as a middle initial.) He was born March 3 1880 in Collepietro, L'Aquila, Italy. My grandmother is Filomena Maria Priore. She was born November 19, 1892 and is from , I believe, Abruzzi. They were married in the US and I have information for them from here, but I am having a problem tracing any family from Italy. I do know that Filomena had some sisters and brothers. I know 3 sisters names- Giovannia, who married Alfred, Angelina, who married John, and Gemma or Jemma, who married Ferdnand. One of Filomena's brother was Agapito, who died in 1979. Filomena's father was Salvatore and her mother was Francesca Sarrocca (I am not for sure if the last name is correct or not).
