Latin Help

Post by michaeldi »

I received another Allegati film today with many church records. I am able to understand the following for the record below:

Anna Maria La Spisa, died 1 August 1821, age 43, wife of Giovanni. I believe the records states she died in the comune of Villafrati, although the film is from Ventimiglia di Sicilia. I do not see mention of her parent's names.

Did I miss anything? Any help is appreciated/

Thanks,

Michael

Husband Giovanni Elatis? She died of 'Grave morbo coruptus.'
If you found this in the films of another town it was probably an 'allegati' to another document, probably his second marriage.
Since this is a parish death record she died in the town where it was prepared. Villafrati.

Omnibus et singulis praesentes(!) inspetturis [inspecturis] fidem facio ac testor qualiter in uno librorum in quo adnotatur nomina, et cognomina mortuorum inveni nota tenoris sequenti videlicet:

Anna Maria La Spisa uxor quondam Joannis aetatis suae annorum 43 circiter gravi morbo corrupta, omnibus sagramentis munita, ac roborata obiit, cujus corpus in hac Matricis Eccl(esi)ae Terrae Villefratuum jacet.
In quorum fidem praesentis mea manu subscrissi.
Datum Villefratuum die 3 Junii 1833.
Sac(erdos) Salvator Brancato Econimus.

Sacerdote Economo Salvatore Brancato.

Tell me if you need an English translation.
