I\'m looking for information to link the Fogliaro\'s in Italy. My great great grandfather came from Catanzaro, Italy in a small town though I don\'t think the spelling is correct. We do not know if there were sibilings or cousins. I come up with many names that came across the boat on Elis Island but not the one that I\'m looking for. How do I find sisters, brothers, or cousins to make a connection to trace the family line back to Italy?

According to the baptism paper I have the town they arriginated from is Parapatti of Cantanzaro, Italy. The other spelling I have on the baptism is Paravoti. However when I went to the search for towns these names did not come up. Any web sights or some information would be helpful.

The town name is Paravati, Provincia Vibo Valenta. There are 19 persons surnamed Fogliaro in the town nowe. Go to www.paginebianche.it and put in Fogliaro in the first line and paravati in the third line and click cerca and the 19 names will show up with addresses and telephone numbers as well as their full names. I would suggest you send one letter to all 19 and ask them if they are related to you. Peter

Mileto which shows up in the ellsi island records is in the same postal code for paravati which means that Mileto and Paravati are next to each other so take it from there. Peter

english is the second language they teach after Italian so many school kids know some english. If you write in english in simple short sentences they will understand...please include a self addressed envelope. Peter

I can write in english but I was thinking it would be good to write in italian too if that would help. Do you think they have the e-mail like we do in the US? I was wondering so that I could give them my e-mail address for easy communication if any one does answer the letter.

By all means write n Italian as that is preferable. As for e-mail give your e-mail address in case they may have a computer but don\'t count on it for many responses. Peter
