Dear Mike go to your nearest Mormon family history library (www.familysearch.org for location) and rent out micorfilm of civil records for Pomarico from 1810 to 1910 covering all briths, marriages and deaths. Take along with you magnifying glass and companion book Discovering Your Italian Amcestors by Lynne Nelson The rental costs about $6.00

Further if you are embarking upon doing a complete family genealogy then may I suggest that you go to http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... earch.html

If you wish to write to Pomarico for documents directly, potential relative letters, etc then go to www.mangeruca.com for Italian language form letters. There is no fee for requesrt for documents in Italy. =Peter=

This seems to be the arrival manifest of Francesca Dianora and her son Vincenzo Ferrandina.

Thanks for the replies.
I forgot to state that I have viewed the legible records from the LDS microfilms, and have just about all the records for Antonio and Francesca, who came to America. I also have the U.S. records for Margherite. Although Vito Camillo and Michele came to the U.S. ("Birds of Passage"), they returned to Italy. I also don't know if there were any other siblings.
What I'm hoping to find is any info on the Ferrandina, Dianora, DiCicco & DePrimo families still in Pomarico, or if any emigrated to other countries.

Oh yeah .. although my dad was hoping for a boy, he got me instead. Luckily the name Michele can be used for a female here in the states.

Dear Michael I am bemused by the fact that you made an obvioius unecessary inquiry to obtain information that you apparently did not need instead of requesting information about your true research objective??

Why the smoke and mirrors?? =Peter=

Hi Michele,
This may help you locate family currently living in Italy.
Have you written any letters to potential relatives yet?
Thanks! Valarie

Welcome to IG!! I can assure you that no post is considered unecessary,
unless of course it is dreaded *s*p*a*m *.....

Not all posters need or require information, many of them are quite simply listing ancestors in the hopes that family connections are made with others researching the same lines!! This is why we encourage ongoing dialogue between posters, so that we can determine exactly what it is they require, if anything at all.

Please accept my apologies for the posting.

Peter, I have sent you a PM.

I envy those who have had the oppurtunity to consult original records,
maybe one day my town of origin will appear on microfilm... :?
it must be a wonderful experience to travel back in time thru historical documents such as these.
