Re: I need help

Post by dandc »

Hello:
My grandfather's name was Ed Cipriani. I was told he was with the consulate service in Scotland. He married my grandmother who was from Scotland, her name was Mary McCall Steele. Does anyone have any information about Ed Cipriani and how do I go about getting more info. They were married in the early 1920's I think in Scotland. My grandmother told me that he was in the Carribean where he contracted an illness that weakened his heart and he passed from a heart attack in his 50's long before I was born.

Thank you very much.

Apparently the website is experiencing some difficulty or changed the spelling since www.footnote.com seems to work and lists the 206 Edward Cipriani as well. =Peter=

It seems like the same Edward Cipriani traveled back to London (possibly Wales or Scotland?) sometime in between 1894 and 1921 (same birth year):

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957: Edward Buinza Cipriani

Name: Edward Buinza Cipriani
Arrival Date: 20 Apr 1921
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1871
Age: 49 Years 6 Months
Gender: Male
Port of Departure: London
Ship Name: Saxonia
Search Ship Database: View the Saxonia in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Line: 7
Microfilm Serial: T715
Microfilm Roll: T715_2954
Page Number: 128

The Original Manifest even includes his passport number and an address in New Jersey, and there's even a photo of the ship!
